by Barry on Apr.23, 2012, under Mumblings
Ipswich Quakers will be hosting their Festival of Green Ideas again this year at the meeting house on Fonnereau Road from 10am to 5pm on Saturday May 12th. I suggest you get down there, it will be very good! The people there are particularly nice too.
ipswichgreenparty.org.uk stats

I had a quick look at the web server statistics for www.ipswichgreenparty.org.uk for the first time in, erm, a very long time! Apparently the site attracts a disproportionate amount of Linux users; 28.8% compared to the UK average of 1%. Almost 60% of users run Firefox, and there are 4 times as many Android users than iPhone users (although the site probably looks awful on a mobile).
You lovely, lovely, Microsoft and Apple avoiding, open source principled people! As a Linux laptop owning, rooted Android smart-phone wielding Firefox user I salute you!
Cycling – A solution for societies ills
by Barry on Apr.10, 2012, under Green politics, Health
A friend of mine came up with a simple idea. Spend a tiny fraction of the NHS budget for obesity related diseases on dedicated cycle lanes across all towns and cities.
Everyone would be healthier and richer (no petrol to buy) and we could spend some of that extra cash on a giant water slide.
Even Jeremy Clarkson appreciates the beauty of such an idea! Cycle routes that is, not the giant water slide.
