Cycling – A solution for societies ills

A friend of mine came up with a simple idea. Spend a tiny fraction of the NHS budget for obesity related diseases on dedicated cycle lanes across all towns and cities.
Everyone would be healthier and richer (no petrol to buy) and we could spend some of that extra cash on a giant water slide.
Even Jeremy Clarkson appreciates the beauty of such an idea! Cycle routes that is, not the giant water slide.

This would also be much safer, I would be a lot happier for my children to go out cycling if there were more cycle lanes. So richer, healthier and safer!
